North Georgia Cabin Rentals If you were interested in North Georgia cabin rentals, then you’d probably love to know the story behind this magnificent area of the United States. In the early times, long ago, Georgia was the land of the Cherokee Indians, but the western settlers kept arriving to live in this area, with the population increasing dramatically in a short space of time, and thus a lot more land was needed. These settlers occupied the land of the native Indians and also coerced them out of the area altogether. These Indians still managed to keep their land in Western Georgia, but in 1821, they were once more driven out as a result of the gold rush to the area, and the North Georgia Mountains in particular. The Indians were often enslaved and killed along with the stealing of their land, and there was even the “Indian Removal Act”, which was passed by the Congress of the United States in 1830. The Cherokees attempted to get this law banned by taking the State to court, but the court did not see the Cherokee Nation as a sovereign nation, and so the case never reached a decision. The Indians were then forced to march many thousands of miles out of the entire state, and many of them died along the way, today this track that they walked is known as “The Trail of Tears”, and is a very sad piece of Georgia’s history. Today, this area is no longer a place of suffering, where every man, woman and child is welcome to live and stay here, and the past has been put right as best it can, see for yourself by enjoying a family vacation at one of the North Georgia cabin rentals. There are many attractions to keep you entertained while on holiday, and even more so if you’ve brought the kids along! All the North Georgia cabin rentals are perfectly centralized so that it won’t be a mission getting around the area, and you won’t get lost, as there are signs all over the place, and the residents are extremely friendly and will be more than happy to point you in the right direction! One of the definite sights to see is “Roos” Galore, conservation for kangaroos, and just so happens to be the biggest population of these magnificent creatures outside of their homeland of Australia. You will get the chance to see around 200 kangaroos, as they sun themselves and basically just enjoy life – giving you a great photo opportunity to keep forever! Another great adventure is a visit to the Ocoee Whitewater Center, where you can enjoy the water, go on a hike, or just have a family picnic besides the waters’ edge. This will undoubtedly be a wonderful chance to enjoy the outdoors while staying at one of the many North Georgia cabin rentals, and it is a place where there are many fun educational programs you could enroll your kids in too! |
